How shoes can injure you…
Here’s a list of the most common ways running shoes can cause discomfort, injury and that dreaded “down time”:
- Too many miles…let your shoes get into the 475-550 mile range and you’re asking for it!
- The wrong “type” of running shoe…a mismatch of too much cushioning for an unstable foot or too much support for a foot that needs cushioning and you’ve got trouble!
- Poor fit…shoes that are too wide or too long cause more serious problems (from hot spots and sore arches to knee issues) are the number one misfit culprit.
- Wearing your running shoes for ALL of your other activities…this usage will prematurely break down the life of the shoe (by half).
