How shoes can injure you…

Here’s a list of the most common ways running shoes can cause discomfort, injury and that dreaded “down time”:

  1. Too many miles…let your shoes get into the 475-550 mile range and you’re asking for it!
  2. The wrong “type” of running shoe…a mismatch of too much cushioning for an unstable foot or too much support for a foot that needs cushioning and you’ve got trouble!
  3. Poor fit…shoes that are too wide or too long cause more serious problems (from hot spots and sore arches to knee issues) are the number one misfit culprit.
  4. Wearing your running shoes for ALL of your other activities…this usage will prematurely break down the life of the shoe (by half).
